Excellence on a shoestring and a "Why not?" approach

"I knew from the moment I first spoke to you the Cantorino Choir tour of Great Britain was no ordinary tour and the concerts no ordinary concerts. It represented a phenomenal achievement … and took tremendous faith, vision and love.

To persuade people to give food, transport, accommodation, fun trips out and time without being paid a penny is rare. But I know, Gillian, you are very persuasive!"
Sarah Lucas, Classic FM,
September 1995.

The Concordia Foundation is run from Gillian's home in central London, ensuring that running costs are low. It is equipped to exacting standards, ensuring that music and organisation skills are of the highest quality. Gillian travels extensively, performing and lecturing on Cunard's world cruises. Every stop in every country provides an opportunity for Gillian to promote the vision of the Concordia Foundation by presenting concerts and events in those countries, often for local charities. Through the Concordia Foundation, new, young artists perform to the highest standards using the best musical equipment in front of the most discerning audiences, around the world, building important bridges through music and the arts.

Gillian's home is a magnet for young artists in the UK or visiting from abroad. Auditions and rehearsals take place in the beautiful music room and young artists come to discuss their ideas and seek advice on how to take their musical careers forward. Gillian's approach is warm, welcoming and natural - but her compassionate, open approach does not compromise the musical standards she sets.

The Concordia Foundation's events and performances are highly creative and individual. Putting together a unique show is second nature to Gillian who sees solutions and ideas where others see problems. Her spontaneous approach ensures that fitting in an unscheduled visit or fulfilling an unusual request is done with ease and skill. There is no shortage of ideas or musical talent and every performance is a treat - for the audience and performers - and raises money to support new talent or other charities.

Performances and visits are organised in meticulous detail, liaising with embassies, making complex travel arrangements, masterminding stage sets, ensuring costumes are researched, designed and made, organising rehearsals and promoting events in the UK and abroad. The Concordia Foundation's approach is professional in every respect.
