Gillian was delighted to be commissioned by EDF to broaden its work with Young Audiences at 5 schools in Tower Hamlets, who agreed to participate in the competitive design ideas for 10 window panels to be displayed on a new commercial building off Brick Lane in White Chapel. The idea was inspired by Adrian Salt and Annie Pang Associates working with EDF. Gillian and scenic artist, Rosie Mayhew visited the schools last autumn to introduce the project and to monitor progress in each art class. An exhibition was held at Wilton’s Music Hall on 25 February 2010 to select the final ten designs. It was a very exciting project and Gillian is thrilled that the children’s artwork and ideas will be recorded for posterity in this way.

We are very grateful to the artist John Wilkins for his advice and to Dasha Shenkman for representing Concordia on the judging panel. We thank Adrian Salt and Annie Pang for their continued support for the Concordia Foundation. We really enjoyed working closely with Niamh Arnett, press officer and her associates at EDF. . . It was a great success.

Dear Gillian,
I just wanted to pass on our thanks for the art competition yesterday. The children were so excited. Isfahan being chosen as one to the winners was just fantastic and a real boost for him and his family. The children are so lucky to be involved with Concordia.

Dear Gillian,
It was lovely to see all the works professionally displayed and the children really enjoyed receiving their awards. A big thank you for the very kind donation which we will use to further develop our art work.
Best wishes,
