Cristina Gestido was born in Oviedo, Spain. She is studying a Masters Degree at the Royal College of Music with Lawrence Power, having studying before with Andriy Viytovych. She has attended masterclasses with Brunno Giuranna, Wilfried Strehle, Paul Silverthorne, Simon Rowland-Jones and Dietmar Mantel and has won awards and scholarships from the RCM Foundation, EMI Music Sound Foudation, Wolfson Foundation, “Cajastur”, “AIE”, “Alvargonzález Foundation” and “Pedro Barrié de la Maza Foundation”. Cristina has been member of different orchestras including RCM Symphony Orchestra, Asturias Symphony Orchestra, and Ciudad de Oviedo Symphony Orchestra. As a chamber musician, Cristina has played at the International Chamber Music Festival ‘Evaristo Valle’ in Spain with Yuri Zhislin, and the ‘Music Festival of Central Catalunya’ playing with eminent performers such as Andriy Viytovych, Evgeny Grach, Peter Thiemann and Klaus Heitz. Cristina’s solo recitals include numerous performances through Spain, London and Salzburg with pianists Sergei Bezrodny, Alba Ventura and Luis Parés.

'Sophisticated Ladies' at the National Portrait Gallery performed to a packed-out audience on Friday 9th December. Newly formed this year, an ensemble of 10 of Concordia's most accomplished cellists and Concordia Prize-winner Anna Patalong soprano.The Concordia Candlelit Christmas Concert Saturday 17th December at St Paul's Church Covent Garden at 7.30pm was completely SOLD OUT and a fantastic end to a very challenging and inspiring year. Performaners included Concordia International Ensemble Artists, talented young musicians and VOCES8.
