Born in 1995 in Wales, Ben Tarlton studied with Sharon McKinley and Alexander Baillie before being accepted to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School with Thomas Carroll. In 2014 he received a Scholarship to study with Louise Hopkins at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After graduating with First class honours, he has been awarded a Scholarship to continue his studies there as a Postgraduate Student, with financial help also from The Countess of Munster Trust and Help Musicians UK.
In May of 2016 Ben was selected as a Fellow to participate in the Piatigorsky cello festival in Los Angeles and in April 2017, he participated in the masterclasses at IMS Prussia Cove, attending Open Chamber Music the following September. He has recently performed chamber music and solo performances in venues such as Milton Court, The Barbican Hall, Wales Millennium Centre and BBC’s Hoddinott Hall.
Pianist Joon Yoon was the unanimous winner of Guildhall School's most prestigious award, the Gold Medal, previsiouly won by artists such as Jacqueline du Pre and Bryn Terfel, for which he was named a BBC rising star, appearing live on BBC Radio 3's In Tune.
Joon has performed in venues such as Palau de la Musica Catalana, Lincoln Center, Seoul Arts Center, and the Barbican Center among others to name. As an avid chamber musician, he has collaborated with prestigious musicians such as current and former members of the Guarneri, Juilliard, and Ying quartets.
He has won top prizes in Campillos International Piano Competition (Spain), Verona International Piano Competition (Italy), among numerous others.
His teachers and greatest musical influences are Yong Hi Moon, Robert McDonald, and Hung-Kuan Chen. He is a graduate of Yale School of Music and The Juilliard School under full scholarship, and is continuing his studies at the Guildhall School in London as an Artist Diploma candidate with Ronan O’Hora.
