Uyen Nguyen

Khac-Uyen is a Vietnamese born Norwegian, born
to a musical family in Hanoi. He began to play the violin from the age
of 5, after moving to
Norway with the family as political refugees. Khac-Uyen studied the violin
and composition at the Norwegian State Academy of Music (Oslo) and took
the Bachelor of Music Degree there. He then spent 2 years from 1995 until
1997 at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London) Since graduation,
Khac-Uyen has been giving solo recitals in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Germany
and Vietnam in addition to his work as an orchestral musician. Between
1998 and 2002 he had worked for Malmo Opera (Sweden), Kristiansand Chamber
Orchestra (Norway), Beethoven Halle Orchestra Bonn and the Classical
Philharmony Bonn (Germany). Khac-Uyen is presently studying Post Graduate
Conducting with Colin Metters at the Royal Academy of Music, London.
