Phuong Nguyen
Vietnam (piano accordion)

Phuong Nguyen was born in Vietnam and learned piano accordion from the of age 8 at the Hanoi Conservatory. He left Vietnam by boat aged 16 and spent four years in refugee camps in Hong Kong. Dedicated supporters arranged for him to come to the UK to study at the Royal Academy of Music. Since his graduation in 1999 he has worked with Pimlico Opera and Shared Experience Theatre Company. He most recently performed in Lulu at the Almeida Theatre in a production that went on to play at the Kennedy Center, Washington.
