"I want to bring joy and happiness in the hearts of the British people and children. I know that music can make bridges between children and adults too."

After three visits by the Concordia Foundation to Romania, the 43 young singers of the Cantorino Children's Choir from Zalau, conducted by Dorina Cret, were invited to come to Britain to give a series of concerts in July 1995 as part of the Concordia Foundation's objective of initiating and developing international links through the exchange of music and friendship between the younger generations. The King and Queen of Romania welcomed them on their arrival.

The Concordia Foundation had arranged a concert tour which included broadcasts by the BBC and Classic FM, concerts at the Barbican and Purcell Room in London, St Peter's College Oxford, St Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham, St Peter's Church in Bedford and the Municipal Concert Hall in Pontypridd.

"I want to see the country where Shakespeare has written his masterpiece. I intend to increase my knowledge of the English language and culture. I hope we will delight you with our music. We want to give you our message of youth, joy and happiness." Simon, aged 13, one of the members of the Cantorino Children's Choir.

"Try to make the lives of those around you bright and happy and the trying will be like a mirror reflecting brightness on your own life."
W A Hootton

"From my own experience … I know what an immense amount of dedication, imagination and energy is needed in order to design and stage any events for the promotion of yoiung talents and I admire Gillian's inexhaustible resources. As one who is Romanian born, I am grateful for her building of musical bridges between Britain and Romania. The recent concert tour of the Cantorino Children's Choir from Zalau created a new and memorable experience for the children and established human links which are desperately needed by Romania's people. I hope that Gillian's endeavours will continue to flourish."
Anda Anastasescu, artistic director of the London Schubert Players, August 1995.
