Mozart: Piano Concerto no. 22 K482: chamber version arranged by Ignaz Lachner
Written in 1786, this one of eleven piano concertos written by Mozart within the space of only two years. By the time he completed this concerto he was composing The Marriage of Figaro. The role of Countess Almaviva comes to mind as we listen to this concerto, so subtle in its drama and sincere in its expression.
Caroline Tyler (piano) has performed at venues including the Barbican Hall in London, Barber Institute of Fine Arts in Birmingham, and Martinu Hall and British Embassy in Prague. She graduated from The Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a first-class Honours degree and a Masters. During her studies she competed with candidates from the Royal music colleges and Oxbridge to win the Sir Anthony Lewis Memorial Prize, as well the Norah Sande, Christopher Duke and Anglo-Czech Trust competitions. She regularly performs with Ensemble Reza and RSC soprano Alexandra Ferrari.
Andrea Montalbano (violin) studied with Umberto Bruno, Silviu Dima, Stefano Pagliani and Ofer Falk and attended masterclasses with Tasmin Little, Francesco Manara and Carducci Quartet. He was member of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Giovanile Meditteranea, leader of London Euphonia Orchestra from 2014 and a member of Southbank Sinfonia from 2017. He is also founder of Tamesis Piano Trio, selected to play in the semifinal of St Martin in the Fields Competition, became part of the Richard Carne programme at Trinity Laban, won 2nd Prize of TIM Competition and 3rd Prize of Grand Prix Virtuoso Music Competition. He graduated with Distinction from Trinity Laban, under Professor John Crawford.
Maria Fiore (violin) studied at Trinity Laban. In 2012, under the guidance of Prof. Matthew Trusler, she was awarded a Masters in Performance with Distinction. After graduation, she moved to Vienna to continue her studies with Prof. Anna Kandinskaya. Maria Fiore has performed in festivals in the UK and abroad as soloist and orchestral musician, and has been a member of Southbank Sinfonia 2014, which she led in several projects, Britten Pears Young Artist Programme, Chipping Campden Festival Academy, and freelances with several orchestras and ensembles. Maria’s interest in contemporary music led her to the London Sinfonietta Academy, Ensemble Modern International Academy Klangspuren, and Bang on a Can Festival 2016 in the USA.
Jordi Morell (viola) is studying for a Postgraduate Degree with Dr Rivka Golani at Trinity Laban. He completed his Bachelor and Master’s Degree as a Trinity Laban Scholar, and was awarded the Band/Kurtz Prize for Viola in 2012. Jordi took up the viola at the Conservatori de Música de Vialseca under the guidance of Quim Miracle. At the Youth Orchestra of Catalonia he worked with conductors such as Karl Anton Rickenbacher and Manel Valdivieso. Recently Jordi performed the Sinfonia Concertante by Mozart with the London Euphonia Orchestra. He appeared alongside pianist Neus Peris at the Schumann concert series at St. James Piccadilly in March 2017.
Urška Horvat (cello) finished her Postgraduate Artist Diploma in 2016 with Distinction and Director’s Prize for Excellence in Strings with internationally renowned cellist David Cohen. Urška has worked with other great musicians such as Enrico Bronzi, Leonid Gorokhov and Valery Gergiev. She is the recipient of numerous prizes: Concordia Foundation 2017, 1st prize at Vera Kantrovitch Bach Competition 2015, 1st prize at Soloists' Competition 2016, 1st prize at Leonard Smith and Felicity Young Competition 2016, TEMSIG national competition (Slovenia), Wettbewerb fur Violoncello Liezen (Austria), Young International Janigro Competition (Croatia). Urška has appeared at Wigmore Hall, St. Martin in the Fields, St. James's Piccadilly, Cadogan Hall, Southbank Centre and Flagey (Belgium).
Thibault Blanchard-Dubois is a French cellist currently based in London. As well as playing standard cello repertoire, he is working on mixing classical music, experimental-contemporary music, digital art and new technologies. He has won awards in many competitions: among them 1st prize at the Vivian Joseph Classical Concerto Competition 2016, finalist at The Vera Kantrovitch Solo Strings 2016 and 2017, finalist ‘’Highly Commended’’ at The Leonard Smith & Felicity Young Duo Competition with the pianist Ettore Strangio. He is currently studying for an undergraduate degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music with internationally renowned cellist David Cohen.
